Public Law Care Proceedings

Public Law proceedings are court proceedings where the local authority applies to the court for a Care Order or an Emergency Protection Order or a Supervision Order. This can be an extremely distressing and emotional time for parents, or anyone who has been a carer of a child, and involved with Social Services. These proceedings are often at very short notice to a parent/carer and can result in a child/children being removed from their home. We are able to represent parents or carers within court proceedings and indeed correspond and negotiate with the local authority prior to the issue of proceedings in certain circumstances.
